Alright, we’ve got some thrilling news to share, and we couldn’t wait any longer to let you in on it! Today, we at Fiddlesticks Games are officially announcing that we’re working on Echo Vanguard—a bold new tactical RPG set in the neon-drenched depths of the Echoverse, a digital dimension where human creativity comes to life. We’ve been dreaming about this project for months, sketching ideas late into the night, and now it’s time to bring it to the world. We’re beyond excited to kick off this journey, and we can’t wait for you to join us as we shape this vibrant, fractured realm!

The Good News

The good news? This game is a passion project from the ground up. Echo Vanguard thrusts you into the role of a Vanguard, leading a squad of sentient Echoes—unique AI agents powered by NFTs—to stabilize the Echoverse against corrupting anomalies that threaten to unravel its fabric. Picture neon-lit ruins, floating platforms, and glitch-infested landscapes inspired by the gritty beauty of The Last of Us, but reimagined with a futuristic, creative twist. We’re crafting a world where your decisions in tactical combat and creative restoration shape the environment and your Echoes’ growth. And here’s the best part—we’re opening the doors for you to bring your own NFTs (like Bored Ape Yacht Club or CryptoPunks), borrow others’ creations, or mint new Echoes right in-game. It’s a game built for the community, by the community!

Building the Echoverse

At Fiddlesticks Games, we’re a small crew with a DIY spirit, used to iterating fast and pivoting when inspiration strikes. Growing the team is a big step for us—more voices mean more coordination, and the financial pressure can be daunting—but we knew we needed someone like Maya to push this project forward. As lead designer, I (Joey) have been juggling the game’s tactical mechanics and NFT integration, all while navigating a hectic year that included a cross-country move and supporting my family through a tough time. Looking back, those personal challenges have fueled our creativity, giving the Echoverse its raw, unpredictable edge. Our programmer, Justin, reminded me that every project we’ve tackled has been a leap into the unknown—that’s what makes it ours. We’re pouring our hearts into Echo Vanguard, and we’re so excited to see where this journey takes us, with you by our side.
